Anonymous, Columbus, OH.

I’ve been in active therapy for years for a host of concerns. While I’ve learned and uncovered quite a bit, including why and how I’ve developed certain beliefs about myself and how life “should be,” I still wasn’t necessarily tackling these beliefs in a way I could dismantle them. I’ve always been interested in hypnotherapy, EMDR, and shadow work, so I reached out to Virginia to schedule a consultation. During our first virtual chat, she explained to me the science behind it all and provided some resources for me to read through – a welcome addition, as I can be very evidence-based in my decision making. We’ve had two hypnosis sessions since, one virtually and one in person, and I can’t express just how insightful they were for me and how they’ve assisted me in altering my thinking, freeing me, in a way. Virginia creates a comfortable environment that allows you to truly feel at ease and open and vulnerable (admittedly, the ability to feel like I could freely speak during these sessions was a concern of mine). I also greatly appreciate Virginia’s emphasis on homework. Beneficial changes come through consistent work, and Virginia provides simple yet effective tasks (e.g., movies/TED talks, journaling) to help her clients engage in this work throughout the days before the next session. I’m thrilled and optimistic to continue my work with Virginia!
